Seven Sisters Meridian
We’re so happy to bring you yarn from Maine indie-dyer Seven Sisters Arts. Meridian, a fingering-weight yarn with four nicely twisted plies, are very even and consistent to work with. You’ll find it perfect for so many projects such as shawls, socks, lightweight garments, baby items and it combines beautifully with lace mohair or alpaca strands to give the color more complexity and depth. Fiber Content – 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon
Weight – Fingering
Gauge – 24 – 30 sts = 4″ (10cm)
Needle Size – US 1 – 5 / 2.25 – 3.75mm
Hook Size – US B to F / 2.25-3.75 mm
Skein Weight – 3.5 oz / 100 grams
Skein Yardage – 463 yards / 423 meters
Care – Hand wash in cool water, gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry for optimal care.
Meridian is dyed in lots of 5. Any project requiring more than 5 skeins will require more than one dye lot.
Note about Hand Dyed Yarns – While we love the exquisite colors available in hand dyed yarns, there can be significant variations from skein to skein. Please follow these guidelines to ensure success:
- Purchase enough yarn to complete your project, allowing for a bit of overage, just in case!
- Not all differences in skeins are obvious when comparing skeins.
- For projects that require 2 or more skeins, we highly recommend blending your skeins by using 2 balls at once, alternating every couple of rows from each ball. This should blend any variations between skeins.
