Pure Tweed

But, what truly sets this yarn apart is its beautiful and harmonious colors, named after places and castles along the famous River Tweed in Scotland.
This yarn is a traditionally woollen-spun tweed yarn in Aran weight. Woollen spinning involves carding the fibers without combing them, which introduces plenty of air into the yarn, giving it a wonderfully airy and voluminous texture. Knitted pieces made from woolen-spun yarn are exceptionally durable and can last a lifetime with proper care. Pure Tweed has a soft yet sturdy feel, making it perfect for crafting long-lasting sweaters, hats, blankets and other accessories.
The wool used in this yarn comes from sheep in Europe and New Zealand and spun in Ireland, in County Donegal. As always with rustic carded yarns be sure to do a blocked swatch since the wool will blossom after its first wash.
